SUSHI MURA- San Diego, CA
This is a fairly new Japanese restaurant. Its small, intimate, yet very classy and modern. I ordered the teriyaki salmon which came with a side of rice, miso soup and a salad. The salad was BOMB, miso soup was on point, and the rice was…just rice. Now for the teriyaki salmon. This fish was very fresh, to say the least. Im use to eating really cooked fish but this salmon was almost too tender and moist which I almost had to question if it was really cooked all the way. Despite my concerns, I ate it and lived. The teriyaki sauce that was on the side tasted a bite different than the usual teriyaki sauce, but it was a good type of different. Prices were very reasonable and I would recommend this Japanese joint to anyone. RATING A
I’ll admit, I’ve not done a post in ages! I’ve actually been taking photos of my dishes and posting them on Instagram, Facebook, and mostly storing them on my phone… SHAME ON ME! I’ve totally neglected my blog.
Btw, don’t expect any fancy posts like my previous ones because WordPress for Windows has limited functions. I will however, guarantee to be more active on my food explorations this year, scouts honor…
Oh.. Man.. Talk about eating at a Jamaican restaurant! Boy o boy was the food tasty.This island dish consisted of jerk tofu, plantain,salad,and some type of Jamaican rice that was kickin. I must note that whatever flavoring/sauce they use on the jerk tofu was hot, by default of course. But its very bearable and flavorful.Everything was on point. YUMMMMMMM!
Yes this dish looks delicious doesn’t it? This fish and fries entrée looked filling, considering the portion size of everything. At first glance, the fish looked like an egg roll, given that the thick pieces were deep-fried which expectedly came out a bit greasy. The fries on the other hand, was a bit too thin for my liking and it was borderline dry ( I guess that’s why they put the fish on top of the fries to even everything out). The tartar sauce was ok and the red sauce was just there for decoration in my opinion. I didn’t really use it a whole lot. I did enjoy the meal however, but after a while, my stomach started to hurt. I’m not sure if it was due to grease from the fish or from all the tarter sauce I ate, but the fact of the matter was that I ended up leaving that restaurant nauseated. I would recommend this dish to any though, maybe their stomach would be stronger than mine. If I was to set aside the stomach ach, I would rate this dish a yum, but I cannot ignore such a fact, so YUCK.

What can I say about this besides holy cow! This little fire cracker packed quite a big punch. If you like hot then you will surely enjoy the veggie puff . Boy was this the most exciting thing I ate in a long time. Inside the puff was vegetables such as potatoes, peas and carrots. But honestly, it all looked like mush and you can only really notice the potatoes and peas. The breading was pretty much like a pastry, all buttery and flaky. I did not expect this puff to be so spicy yet so good at the same time. The level of hotness was just right so it didn’t drown out the flavor of the filling. With my mind still on this veggie puff, I’d rate this little surprise a YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!

I am not a huge fan of Indian food, but how I felt about it did not stop me from trying out this Nanini dish. This dish consisted of a selection of either beef, chicken, lamb, or tofu (I selected chicken), onion, green and red bell pepper, and Swiss cheese. This dish does not look like it would please anyone’s taste buds, but the only bad rating it gets is it’s color. This deceiving dish is actually very flavorful without it being spicy. The bread also pleased the buds with its firm and flaky texture. I would definitely have this dish as a favorite Indian dish. Yum
Panda Express has nothing on this Korean Stir Fry Chicken dish. A sign of whether or not i’d be satisfied with the food that I would order is if the aroma hit me right in the nose, which is what happened as I walked into this SJ Omogari Korean restaurant. A good smell from a restaurant says everything. This stir fried dish contained cabbage, broccoli, carrots, green onion, mushroom, and of course chopped boneless chicken sitting on top of white rice. Everything was nicely seasoned. If you are looking for a filling and inexpensive dish, then this dish is your hero. Yum!

I realize that I am not a fan of the red sauce that is similarly used in kimchi. This dish that you see in the photo is called diakon radish. I’m not a fan of radish and therefor I was not a fan of the dish. I suppose there was nothing really wrong raddish itself, but the fact that the red sauce horribly reminded my of kimchi made it impossible for me to really try and explore the diakon radish. Yes its unfortunate but sometimes people have bad experiences with food which makes it near impossible to try other dishes. But all in all, I would not try this again . I would however, recommend it for someone else who enjoys kimchi. Yuck

Such a famous Korean delicacy, kimchi. This dish is pretty much made of cabbage and cooked in a spicy reddish sauce. When I tried a small pice of this Korean dish, my first thought was “oh no”. Not only was it cold, it was very spicy. Both combinations in my mouth did not work out. I’m glad I only tried a small piece of this. I’ve not eaten much of the kimchi to really say what else was in it besides the cabbage, but im glad I only tried a small piece of it. I’m not use to eating my cabbage cold and spicy, which was probably why I didn’t like it. I would assume that kimchi is an acquired taste and not everyone will like it initially. But As much as I love cabbage, I cannot down kimchi, at all.YUUUCCKK!!

Say hello to different! The name of this simple dish is Yuca Frita Cactus Root. Yes, a cactus root. I have never thought of eating any part of a cactus, but my experience was not disappointing. The dish looks like thick french fries, and surprisingly it tasted similar to potatoes. The dish also came with a garlic and olive oil sauce. The sauce was something different from what I am use to but it was not a bad sauce. The garlic gave the sauce a little spice to it. For those of you who are not too much of a garlic fan, it wouldn’t hurt to try the sauce just once, but for those of you who never had garlic and olive oil sauce, use caution.
